Tips (email search) on Creating Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Friendly Web Pages

By Micrositez

What point is there in having a website that nobody sees? The largest source of free web traffic for most websites on the Internet comes from search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN etcetera. Therefore, if you design a search engine friendly or a site with search engine optimization in mind you are likely to rank higher in search engine results and grab more valuable free visitors for yourself.

The Big 3 search engines e.g. Google, Yahoo! and MSN use internet robots known as web crawlers or spiders to crawl and index websites which they then can list within their organic search result pages. Most spiders follow links to a page then read the text content of the page and make a record of it in their own database this allows the search engines to pull up the listing at any time as people search for it.

In order to make it as easy as possible for the search engines to index and crawl and index your site, the use of frames on your website should be avoided. Frames can often confuse search engine robots and many spiders have difficulty indexing pages created with the use of frames. They could even leave your site without crawling it any further if it is not search engine friendly enough. In addition, frames can make it difficult for users to add a bookmark a particular page on your website without using certain long and complicated scripts.

Dont put valuable text content inside flash movies or in images remember search engine robots can only read the text on your website source code. Therefore if crucial text is presented in flash movies and or inside images rather than the readable textual form, your websites search engine rankings could be affected dramatically.

Correct use of meta tags on each page is essential, especially correct use of titles and descriptions. This will allow search engine robots to understand straight away what your web pages are about and whether or not to index it. Correct use of meta tags helps to make the search engine robot’s job easier so they may be encouraged to crawl your site more often.

Stop using old style HTML methods like tables and font tags to style your page. Instead use div tags and CSS or Cascading Style Sheets. This is because div tags and CSS are a more search engine friendly method and are also more efficient. With the use of div tags and CSS, you can eliminate old style HTML tags and your pages will be much lighter and faster to load.

Make sure that you always put the text you want to be found for on the body text of your page with your most important keywords near the top or beginning of your body text. For example, if your primary keyword is green widgets put the keyphrase green widgets in the first sentence of your body text and repeat the phrase a few more times throughout the page preferably also somewhere in bold or strong text. Always remember that if you dont put your primary keywords on your body text and also in your titles and meta tags etc you make it much harder for your site to be found in search results.

3 Key Reasons Why Your Articles Fail To Pull In Massive Traffic
By Richard Taylor

How many times have you spent an hour or two writing an article only to find you never receive any traffic from it! Article marketing can be sole destroying for sure.

Here are three key reasons why your articles fail to pull traffic to your sites, and the specifics you should be doing to ensure your future articles do get the traffic you deserve.

1. Poor Title

Your article title is the single biggest determinant of how many times your article will actually be read. And one thing you can be sure of, is that if it isn’t being read, you won’t be receiving any click-throughs to your sites!

So how do you write a great title? Firstly, let’s look at it like this. A great title is one that gets an article read by a lot of people. So before you write an article or try and come up with a killer title of your own, do some research! Visit the biggest article directories and take a look at some of the articles written for your niche. Take a look at how many page views they’ve each received. Write down the ones that have received hundreds or thousands of views.

Once you have a list of tried and tested killer titles, write your own titles in a very similar way! It’s obvious really, but not many people do it this way!

And of course it goes without saying that if none of the articles have many page views, then simply don’t bother wasting your time!

As well as actual title research, do some keyword research as well. You may be able to find some keywords that will give your article a chance of ranking for some phrases with reasonable search traffic. If you do, make sure your keyword phrase appears at the front of your title.

2. Poor Distribution

Don’t waste your time submitting individual articles to individual directories because you won’t get big results. I use paid distribution services every time. These paid services will submit your article to hundreds or thousands of directories and ezines. One site even allows you to submit variants to an article, so that hundreds or different versions are actually submitted from just one article.

Another thing to consider is your article length. Try and aim between 400 and 800 words to give your article a chance of being picked up by an Ezine publisher. Getting published in an ezine will definitely boost the number of eyeballs that see your content!

3. Poor Resource Box

So far we’ve concentrated on how to get your article read. Now for the other critical aspect of article marketing, the process of converting the page view in to a click through to your site.

The resource box is also commonly known as the author bio box. What you should actually think of it as is your “sales pitch”. Your readers aren’t interested in reading about you. They want to know what’s in it for them if they click on your link. So get straight to the point in your resource box, tell your reader what they want to know. Tell them exactly what benefits they will receive if they click on your link, or preferably links, always include two, one with anchor text and one plain url. It’s as simple as that.

How to Target Using Internet Marketing
By Justin Stewart

Internet marketing is an incredibly important tool for any marketing mix. Internet marketing allows you to get name recognition, first time visitors, and repeat customers. Just like any other type of marketing, internet marketing relies on reaching out toward a target market. Any company, product, or service will have a specific target market. The trick to a successful internet marketing campaign is to successfully reach this target market. By targeting correctly with internet marketing, you can easily boost your entire marketing campaign. There are three major, yet simple steps to follow when trying to use internet marketing. By following these steps, you will have a solid foundation for an internet marketing campaign.

Know Your Target

Any business, service, product, or company has already figured out what their target is. Knowing this target is crucial to internet marketing; if you fail to hit the target market while you are marketing, your money and effort will be completely wasted. With that being said, it is important to understand your target thoroughly before you begin to plan for internet marketing. It is important to understand everything you can about your target; knowing their likes, dislikes, and interests can help you to understand the best way to tailor the internet marketing campaign toward them. It can help you to understand what types of websites that you should look at for internet marketing as well, and can help you to understand exactly how successful you can expect your internet marketing campaign to be.

Find that Target

Once you have figure out everything you can about your target marketing, you need to figure out exactly where that target market is, and exactly where you can find them. To have a successful internet marketing campaign, you need to find and reach as many of those in your target market as you can. Finding the places where your target market visits the most is the best way to hit that target successfully and efficiently.

Market

After you have known, and found, your target, you need to actually do the marketing for the internet marketing campaign. Advertisements, e-mails, and promotions should be directed toward that market. Do not try to be cute; it is better to directly target your target in a way that is obvious. This is the most efficient and successful way to reach your target.

The internet allows you to not only target your segment in an incredibly efficient way, but to saturate that target. Through advertisements, e-mails, promotions, and websites, you can effectively saturate a market to market effectively. If done right, this saturation can help your internet marketing campaign and marketing campaign in general. If done wrong, you can actually lose business and recognition. This shows the sensitivity of internet marketing; while internet marketing is a powerful tool, it can also cause problems. Finding the perfect internet marketing campaign, by knowing your target, will cause you to be as successful as possible.
